I want to do so much. Problem is, most of the time, I have no clear direction.
I’m going to change that.
And by that I mean, I’m going to set proper goals for myself.
For my YouTube channel, I made a goal list specifically for that. It’s all stuff I would like to do while I’m still making videos. I don’t focus on numbers (except for one goal) because the goals I want to achieve are specifically meant to be for me. Videos I want to try, challenges I want to accomplish, and generally what I want to do. And you can watch that video here.
Now, I have the same thing for my blog (though I haven’t thought about it until just now). Goals that I want to try, accomplish, and do for myself. And here are my blog goals:
- have others write a post (not the cats…)
- learn photoshop/learn to edit photos
- a giveaway
- interview-style Q&A
- make a clothing piece (I’m crafty and can make little things, but I haven’t made an actual clothing piece yet)
- a comic series
- an honest post
- a photoshoot
- art other than colored pencil
- a recipe post
And that’s what I’d like to do.
This should go without saying, but I’m going to be writing my regular posts and doing what I have been doing. I just want to use these goals to help heighten my work. I want to learn (something I say every chance I get). With these goals I have a direction.
Another thing I feel the need to mention, just because these goals are for me doesn’t mean I’m not partial to whatever audience I have. I’d love to know what you’re doing, if you have goals for it, and how you would like to better yourself.
We should all be encouraging each other in our goals and directions.
